This version of GLIMPSE quantifies human health impacts of air pollutants using the cost per ton emitted. Emission sources are grouped into broad categories and CMAQ and BenMap simulations are used to calculate the health impacts for each source sector and pollutant. More information is available in Fann et al. (2009).
The next version of GLIMPSE will use CMAQ Adjoint for air quality and human health calculations. This will permit a higher level of spatial resolution to more accurately resolve the different health impacts of different emission sources depending on their location.
